Lloyd Manokore is an Africa focused investor/ entrepreneur and a corporate and trade advisor. He is an active investor in various sectors (tech, real estate, services) and has gone on to create an Africa business advisory platform based out of the UAE.

Lloyd has an invaluable grasp and deep knowledge of markets within Sub-Saharan Africa. He established and currently manages the business facilitation platform called Emerging Africa Advisory Group, a specialist cross border advisory platform. In addition, he has a comprehensive and practical legal understanding of general business, mergers and acquisitions,  mining and extractives sector, large cross border infrastructure including ports, rail and power in Africa.

Among some of the other notable initiatives, he is the founder of the firm DLA Piper Africa Manokore Attorneys a member of DLA Piper Africa, a commercial law firm which has become recognized as a specialist corporate advisor in the African market. The firm has been endorsed by directories such as Chambers Global, IFLR1000, awarded African Law Firm of the Year (Small Practice Award) 2018 and nominated for the same award from 2019-2022 and recently the same firm was awarded ‘Zimbabwe Law Firm of the Year’ (IFLR1000 Sub-Saharan Africa Award 2020, 2021, 2022).

EXPERIENCE

• Advising one of South Africa’s largest development finance institutions on a US$ 60 Million line of credit facility to a SADC financial institution.
• Advising a regional multilateral development bank on a USD 25 million trade finance line of credit for real estate
• Advising, and assisting, the client in respect of their acquisition of a controlling interest in a hydrocarbons company
• Advising a multinational development bank in respect of registering security for its debt restructuring of a chrome mining company
• Advising one of South Africa’s largest development finance institution on its various interests in SADC.
• Advising a financial and investment management firm specialising in Africa on its stragegy in respect of its financial advisory, fund management and asset management businesses in Africa.
• Advising a bank on a US$ 20 million revolving facility for out grower financing scheme for farmers in the agricultural sector.
• Advising the promoters on 4 sizeable projects in Africa that have key regional economic impact  in energy, logistics, water, tourism and  resources sector.
